If your university doesn't issue @edu or @unab.edu.ar email addresses to students, you can still get verified using your personal email alongside your official enrollment documents. Steps to Complete Verification Verify Your Personal Email & Profile Add and verify your personal email address in your main GitHub account settings. Ensure the full name on your GitHub profile matches the legal name on your Constancia de Alumno Regular. Enable Location Access GitHub’s automated system uses device geolocation to verify applicants. Apply using a phone or laptop browser with location services turned on. If you are near or on campus, your chances of immediate approval are significantly higher. Upload Official Documentation When filling out the GitHub Student Developer Pack application: Select Universidad Nacional Guillermo Brown from the school list. Choose the option to upload proof of enrollment. Take a clear, well-lit photo or upload a clean PDF of your Constancia de Alumno Regular issued by SIU Guaraní. Ensure the current date, university name, and your full name are clearly visible. Submit a GitHub Education Ticket (If Hard-Blocked) If the online portal completely prevents you from proceeding without a domain email, the university's domain rules on GitHub's backend need manual adjusting. Go to the GitHub Support portal and select GitHub Education / Student Developer Pack. State clearly: "Universidad Nacional Guillermo Brown (UNaB) does not issue individual academic email addresses to students. I am applying with my personal email and attached my official SIU Guaraní enrollment certificate." A support agent will manually review your document and bypass the email domain requirement for your account. |

Hi everyone,
Hello,
I am trying to apply for the GitHub Student Developer Pack as a student at Universidad Nacional Guillermo Brown (UNaB) in Argentina.
My institution does not issue individual academic email addresses (@unab.edu.ar) to students. When I attempt to apply with my personal email and select my university, the system blocks the application stating that an academic email is required.
I have my official enrollment certificate (Constancia de Alumno Regular) issued by the university's SIU Guaraní system with valid proof of current status.
How should students from institutions without individual academic emails proceed with verification?
Thank you!
