Hello GitHub Community,

I am looking for guidance regarding a GitHub Support issue.

My GitHub account @WhiteChocolateJa was suspended, and I submitted an account reinstatement request at the beginning of July 2026. GitHub Support confirmed that the request was received and assigned Ticket #4543134.

Since then, I have already sent two follow-up messages through the same ticket, but I have not received a response from a support agent or a decision regarding my appeal.

I understand that account reinstatement cases can only be handled by GitHub Support, and I am not asking the Community to review or reinstate my account.

My problem is that I am currently unable to access the Support Portal because my account is suspended. When I use the “Can't sign in” → “Account locked or suspended” support flow with the email associated with my account, GitHub requires SMS verification. I have tried completing the verification with a valid mobile number, but the verification fails, and after several attempts I receive:

“You've reached your request limit, please try again later.”

Therefore, I currently have no way to access the Support Portal to check the status of my existing ticket.

Is there an official alternative way to contact GitHub Support or verify the status of an existing reinstatement ticket when the suspended user cannot complete the SMS verification?

Again, the existing ticket is #4543134.

My primary account was also suspended today, right after I pused a Readme.md to update my profile page.

I got no notifications of why my account was suspended, it just was and now I can't even work, as i'm a member of an organization on my main account.

What bothers me is that I use github since 2010 and I never did anything that breaks github EULA and from all the sudden my account was suspended?

For what reason? Where is the email with the explanation or any other means for us to retreive the account or fix any problems that may exist before the suspension?

Also, @JGNMR30 , you said 2months - imagine then how long that will take for me, as I just opened a ticket... How i'll work if I have to wait 2months for having request reviewed when the account was unfarly suspended? That is insane, specially because there is 16y of work there - so that means I lost everything?

Also, that is true that we can't view the status of the ticket?
