New faculty ID photo incorrectly rejected as “previously used”

Hi everyone,

I am trying to reverify an existing GitHub Education faculty benefit. The application requires new academic evidence because the prior image cannot be reused.

I took a genuinely new photograph of my current faculty ID, but the application rejects it with:

“Photo invalid. Photo has previously been used. Please upload a new photo.”

This new photograph has not previously been submitted. I also retried after refreshing the application, with the same result. The school, verified academic email, faculty role, and location steps are all accepted.

Could GitHub Education advise how to proceed when a new document image is incorrectly identified as previously used?

Same issue.

Have tried several devices, granting access to my device's camera. It cannot be the same image as previously used, because I've just granted camera access and captured a brand new image. Cannot break out of the "Upload a new photo" cycle, so cannot submit a Reverify application.

Your application cannot be reviewed until you fix the following: Photo invalid. Errors: Photo has previously been used. Please upload a new photo., Photo has previously been used. Please upload a new photo.

Sam, please let us know here if you figure it out. I haven't received an answer and don't know how to proceed – the problem persists.
