As a developer working across multiple distinct domains (such as cybersecurity, low-level computing, and game development), my GitHub profile quickly becomes cluttered. Currently, all repositories sit in a single flat list under a user profile. While topics and pinned repositories help, they do not provide a clean, high-level structural separation. Creating separate Organizations for personal hobbies is a workaround, but it fractures a developer's personal contribution graph and profile identity.
Introduce a native "Repository Folders" or "Groups" feature for user profiles. Custom Folders: Allow users to create custom folders on their profile (e.g., "Cybersecurity Labs", "Game Dev Projects", "Low-Level Systems").Drag-and-Drop Organization: Let users move their repositories into these folders to clean up their main repository tab. Nested Views: When a visitor clicks a folder, they should see only the repositories assigned to that specific domain.
This feature would allow versatile developers to present a clean, highly organized portfolio to recruiters and peers without needing to maintain multiple accounts or artificial organizations.

I like this idea. Repository folders would be much cleaner than creating multiple personal organizations just to separate projects.

It would also be useful if folders supported custom ordering and an optional public/private visibility setting, so developers could organize their portfolio without affecting their contribution graph.

This would make GitHub profiles much easier to navigate for recruiters and collaborators.
