Hi everyone,

Title: Billing form rejects my one-letter surname initial

Hello GitHub Education Community,

I am applying for the GitHub Student Developer Pack. My academic documents show my name as Vyshnavu R. The R is my legal surname initial.

My application was rejected because GitHub asked me to make my billing name exactly match my academic document.

I entered:

• First name: Vyshnavu
• Last name: R

However, the GitHub billing form shows “Last name is too short” and will not let me save it.

I do not want to enter a fake surname because my academic documents officially show Vyshnavu R.

I also understand that GitHub Education Support currently says individual manual reviews are no longer available.

What is the correct way to enter a legitimate one-letter surname initial so that I can complete my billing information and reapply?
