Hi everyone,

I am a student at the Technological University of the Philippines (TUP) Manila, studying BSIT under the College of Science.

Our university's Microsoft Outlook mail servers are completely blocking external automated system emails from GitHub. Because of this firewall block, I cannot receive the account verification links or code sequences sent to my school email address (randyjr.alonzo@tup.edu.ph). It does not appear in my Inbox, Other tab, or Junk folder.

The automated application form locks me out because I cannot verify the school domain, and individual manual support tickets are currently closed. I have my official, valid TUP Certificate of Registration (COR) for the current semester completely ready to prove my enrollment.

Could a community manager please help flag my account so I can bypass the automated domain requirement and upload my COR document for review?

This is a common issue, and there is a path around it — you don't need a community manager to manually flag anything.

1. First, rule out delivery issues on your end
   Since TUP's Outlook/Exchange server is filtering GitHub's automated mail, ask your IT helpdesk to whitelist these senders/domains (this is the actual fix, not a workaround):

University Exchange admins can usually add a mail-flow rule for specific senders in a few minutes if you explain it's blocking degree-required tool verification — worth escalating to them in parallel with the below.

2. Use the "can't verify with school email" path in the Student Pack application
   The GitHub Global Campus / Student Developer Pack application doesn't only rely on the automated school-email code. When you apply at education.github.com/discount_requests/application there's an option during the flow to prove student status through document upload instead of email — this is exactly the case it's designed for (schools that block or don't have institutional email, or delivery failures like yours). You'll be asked to upload proof such as:

Your Certificate of Registration (COR) for the current semester
A student ID, or a dated enrollment/registration document showing your name, school, and current term

Make sure the document clearly shows your name, TUP Manila, and a current date — that's what the human reviewer checks.

3. If the automated form still blocks you before reaching that step
   Since you mentioned it locks you out before you can get to document upload — try:

Applying from a different browser/incognito window (sometimes a stuck verification session on the school-email step blocks the alternate path from showing)
Double-checking there's no typo in the school email field that's silently failing the domain match

4. If you're still stuck, go through GitHub Support directly, not just this discussion
   Community discussions aren't monitored for individual account actions — for actual account-specific help you'll want:
   👉 support.github.com→ choose "Education" as the category, explain the mail-blocking issue specifically, and attach your COR there. Even if general tickets are showing as "closed" for a queue, Education-specific requests with proof attached typically do get reviewed — just be explicit in the ticket that automated verification failed due to a documented institutional mail block, not user error, since that's a known and accepted exception case.
