Hi GitHub Community,

My GitHub account @PasinduYeshan was unexpectedly suspended on 07/09/2026. I’ve already opened Support ticket #4735837, but haven’t received a response yet.

I did not receive any prior warning or email explaining what specifically triggered the suspension, and I’m still unsure what the actual violation was.

The suspension is currently blocking my development work. Additionally, the PRs, issues, discussions, and comments I created or contributed to across public repositories are no longer visible, which is affecting ongoing work and discussions.

Has anyone experienced something similar recently? Is there any recommended way to escalate a suspension ticket when it is actively blocking development work?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Here is what you need to know and the recommended steps while your ticket is pending:

1. Do NOT Open Duplicate Tickets

Avoid opening additional tickets or sending multiple follow-up emails to your existing ticket (#4735837). Doing so often resets your position in the support queue or flags your account for ticket spam, which will delay the review process further.

2. Check All Email Folders

Check your Spam, Junk, and Promotions folders for the email address linked to your GitHub account. Automated suspension notices or requests for clarification from support@github.com or abuse@github.com can sometimes land there.

3. Expected Timeline & Restoring Contributions

• Why Content Is Missing: When an account is flagged or suspended (often by automated security/spam filters due to sudden IP changes, rapid API activity, or flagged tokens), GitHub automatically hides all associated PRs, issues, and profile data.
• Automatic Restoration: Once a Support staff member manually verifies your ticket and lifts the flag, all your hidden PRs, issues, and contribution graphs will automatically reappear.
• Response Times: Suspension tickets typically take anywhere from 3 to 10 business days to be processed depending on support queue volume.

4. How to Continue Development Work

• Keep Committing Locally: Continue working on your local Git repositories. Make sure your local Git user.name and user.email match your GitHub account details. Once your account is unflagged, you can push all your local commits at once with full commit history preserved.
• Avoid Ban-Evasion Accounts: Do not create a new GitHub account to post or bypass the restriction, as creating secondary accounts to evade a suspension violates GitHub Terms of Service and can result in permanent bans.

Unfortunately, waiting for GitHub Support to review ticket #4735837 is the only official path forward.

Thanks for the reply. I only created one support ticket. Since the mobile number verification wasn’t working, I had to use an older secondary GitHub account solely to submit the ticket. I hope that’s okay. Fingers crossed they’ll review the suspension and restore my account soon. 🤞
