how can I demonstrate that I'm a teacher if the camera gets a photo of my credential that is not enough for GitHub to verify?

A faculty credential can prove identity without proving current employment, which is why the image may be insufficient. GitHub's teacher guidance says to reapply with a different document when the upload does not clearly establish current school affiliation.

The strongest alternative is a recent employment verification letter on school letterhead. It should show:

• your full legal name, matching your GitHub profile;
• the institution name;
• your current educator/faculty/research role;
• a current date or academic term;
• an authorized signature or verifiable issuer.

A current faculty ID can also work if it contains an expiration date or active academic year. A recent pay statement may establish employment, but redact salary, tax, bank, employee-number, address, and other unnecessary personal fields while leaving your name, institution, role, and date visible.

When you reapply, select Faculty, use the verified school-issued email if your institution provides one, and upload a new clear image rather than the previously rejected photo. Do not post the credential or employment document in this public thread.

Your feedback is much appreciated. I finally got verified. Not sure if I'm notified when the benefits are effective (72h?).
Could you confirm if I'll be able to have private repos while publishing pages through those School benefits?
