What are you trying to do?

Restore my historical contributions on my profile contribution graph after re-adding the verified emails those commits were authored with.

What did you expect to happen?

I changed my primary email to a new address and temporarily removed my two older verified emails. Most of my contribution history disappeared, as expected. I then re-added and re-verified both old emails (all three are now listed as Verified). According to the docs, historical contributions should return within about 24 hours.

What happened instead?

More than 3 days later, the historical contributions are still missing or only partially counted. New contributions are counted normally.

I've checked that:

• The commits are in my own public, non-fork repositories, on the default branch.
• The commit pages show my username as the author, so the email is linked to my account.
• The From: line in each commit's .patch view exactly matches a verified email on my account.
• The graph still shows "No contributions" (or a lower count) on those days.

You’ve already done the checks I would normally suggest, so I don’t think another commit or history rewrite will help here. GitHub’s current troubleshooting guide covers this exact case: after re-adding the historical author email, the graph can take up to 24 hours to refresh; if qualifying commits still have not returned after that, the documented next step is to contact GitHub Support with the author email confirmed from the .patch view.

Since you’ve waited more than three days and your examples are public, non-fork, default-branch commits whose From: address matches a verified email, this looks like a profile-attribution rebuild that has not completed rather than a repository problem. I’d open a support ticket and include:

• your username and the date/time the old addresses were re-added and verified;
• two or three commit URLs plus their .patch URLs;
• a screenshot of the verified addresses (you can redact most of each address);
• the affected dates and the fact that new contributions count normally.

I would avoid force-pushing, changing commit dates, or making placeholder commits—the existing commits already meet GitHub’s documented criteria, and rewriting them would only add another variable. There isn’t a public “rebuild contribution graph” button or API endpoint; Support is the route GitHub documents once the 24-hour window has passed.

There's no support ticket category that allows me to do this. Am I missing something?

Thanks! I did open a ticket, but it was auto-closed since I'm on the Free plan. All emails are verified and the .patch From lines match. Could a moderator flag this to the relevant team?

Bought Pro subscription for Github which enabled me to create a ticket under correct category for graph rebuilding and It was fixed as a result.
