Hi everyone,

My GitHub Education student application was approved on August 10, 2026, but my Student Developer Pack benefits are still stuck on "Awaiting Benefits."

The Education Benefits page says:
"Your benefits, including Partner offers, will become available after 72 hours (3 days) of your approval."
However, it has now been approximately 41 days since my approval, and the benefits are still unavailable.

My current status is:

• Academic status: Approved
• Approval date: August 10, 2026
• Benefits status: Awaiting Benefits
• Time since approval: ~41 days

I have already checked the Education Benefits page while signed in to the same GitHub account that I used for the application.
I also cannot submit a GitHub Education support ticket because the "Status of GitHub Education application (student)" category is no longer available for individual status updates.

Has anyone else experienced the same issue recently? If so, were you able to get the benefits activated?

@teerartms Being stuck on "Awaiting Benefits" for ~41 days after approval indicates a sync lock between GitHub's Education verification system and the Billing/Entitlements engine.

Root Cause:

When an application is approved, an asynchronous worker grants your Pro billing status and generates a partner access token. If your account's primary email was modified, 2FA settings changed, or a minor billing profile mismatch occurred right after approval, the job times out silently without transitioning your account status from "Awaiting Benefits" to "Active."

Step-by-Step Fixes to Try:

1. Re-trigger Account Entitlements (Settings Refresh):

   • Go to Settings → Emails and ensure your verified academic email (.edu or institutional domain) is explicitly listed as your Primary Email Address.
   • Go to Settings → Billing & Plans and confirm that your plan says "GitHub Pro" or reflects the free Academic tier.
   • Log out of GitHub completely, clear your browser cache, and log back in before checking education.github.com/pack.

2. How to Open a Support Ticket (Bypassing the Closed Category):
   Since the dedicated Education application status form is restricted, submit a ticket under general Education/Account support:

   • Go to GitHub Support.
   • Select Education → Student Developer Pack (or General Education Inquiry / Account & Billing).

I checked my account as you suggested:

• My GitHub Education application was approved on August 10, 2026.
• Education Benefits is still showing "Awaiting Benefits".
• My current GitHub base plan is still GitHub Free.
• My Copilot subscription is still Copilot Free.
• My verified academic email is already configured as my primary email.

I also tried accessing the GitHub Support form, but the "Status of GitHub Education application (student)" category is no longer available, so I cannot submit a ticket through that category.

It looks like the benefits still haven't been provisioned to my account despite the approval being over 40 days ago.

41 days is definitely unusual after approval; hopefully GitHub support can resolve the activation delay soon, and 81cc game is also worth checking out.
