Hi everyone,

Bug Description
I’m trying to start an application so that I can re-verify my status. However, when I click the “Start an Application” button, I’m redirected to the GitHub pricing page instead of being taken to the application process.

Expected Behavior
Clicking “Start an Application” should open the application process and allow me to proceed with re-verifying my status.

Actual Behavior
The button redirects me to the pricing page, so I’m unable to start the application or continue with the verification process.

Possible Issue
The “Start an Application” button may be incorrectly configured or linking to the wrong page.

Could someone from the GitHub team please investigate this issue and let me know how I can proceed?

This redirect loop usually happens due to browser extensions or session sync issues between github.com and education.github.com.

Here are the quickest ways to bypass it:

1. Try an Incognito / Private Window:
   Ad-blockers (like uBlock Origin or Brave Shields) often block GitHub Education's location/verification scripts, which causes an automatic fallback redirect to the /pricing page. Open an incognito tab with extensions disabled, log into GitHub, and try again.

2. Use the Direct Application URL:
   Instead of clicking through the landing page buttons, go directly to the application form:
   👉 https://education.github.com/discount_requests/application

3. Check Profile Prerequisites:
   Make sure your GitHub account has:

   • 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) enabled in Settings > Password and authentication.
   • Your real name filled in under Settings > Public profile (Name field).
   • Your school-issued email set and verified under Settings > Emails.

Following these steps should take you straight to the camera/document upload step instead of the pricing page!
