Feature request: Add a one-click “Swap Primary and Backup Email” option

GitHub currently makes changing a backup email into the primary email unnecessarily cumbersome.

My situation is fairly straightforward: I originally used one email address as my primary because my Gmail account was not reliably accessible where I lived at the time, so Gmail was configured as my backup email. My circumstances have since changed, and Gmail is now my main everyday email address.

I simply want to reverse the two roles:

Current Primary → Backup
Current Backup → Primary

However, GitHub does not allow a backup email to be selected directly as the new primary email. The user first has to change or disable the backup setting, change the primary email, and then configure the old primary as the backup again.

This feels like unnecessary state juggling for what is conceptually a simple swap between two already verified email addresses.

It would be great to have a “Swap Primary and Backup” action in Settings → Emails that performs this atomically, with normal authentication / confirmation if necessary.

This would make the workflow much clearer and reduce the risk of users accidentally leaving their account without the backup configuration they intended.
