Hi everyone,

Hello GitHub Education team and community,

GitHub username: Ulricharmel001

I am a Bachelor's degree student in Computer Science at the University of the People (UoPeople), an accredited online university. I am currently enrolled in the September 2026 term with registered courses.

My Student Developer Pack application was first rejected on September 18, 2026, and then rejected five more times on October 1, 2026. I am stuck in a rejection loop.

Documents I submitted:

1. Student portal dashboard showing my name, Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, current term and current date
2. Enrollment letter
3. Unofficial transcript
4. Financial aid letter

I made sure that:

• The full school name, University of the People, appears in the document
• My name on the document matches my GitHub profile name and billing information exactly (first and last name)
• A current date is visible.
• I logged out and back in after updating my profile.

The rejection reasons given were

• School name not found in the image
• Last name and first name do not match billing information.
• No date showing current academic affiliation

These reasons do not match what my documents show. Since the upload only accepts a live camera photo, I suspect the capture is making text hard to read or is being misread by the automatic check. Other students have reported the same problem on this forum.

My requests:

1. Please have a GitHub Education staff member review my application manually.
2. Please tell me which document format is best for an online university like UoPeople.
3. Please let me know if there is any way to upload a file instead of a live photo.

I can provide further proof privately if needed. Thank you for your help.

You are completely correct about the automated system. For students at fully online universities like the University of the People (UoPeople), the automated Optical Character Recognition (OCR) system frequently triggers a rejection loop. Because you have to take a live photo of a screen, the resulting glare, pixelation, or moiré patterns make it incredibly difficult for the AI to parse text like your school name or dates accurately.
Furthermore, community moderators cannot manually check or process account applications directly inside public discussion forums. However, you can use specific steps to bypass the live camera glitch and get your application into the hands of a human reviewer.

GitHub has intentionally restricted the "Upload File" button for many users to combat fraud, but you can force the interface to give you a file picker by using the Camera Block Method

hey this would be helpful for me too. whats the camera block method?

I go to an international school in austria. DP 1, and ive been rejected 6 times too. I provided every document, but every time it complains about either my name not being on it or my schools name not being on it (mind you both of those are clearly there)
