Since the notifications are appearing in the GitHub notification inbox/email but not as Android push notifications, this seems to narrow the problem down to the mobile push-delivery layer rather than GitHub's notification generation itself. A few things I'd check specifically on Android 11:
If notifications still don't arrive after a clean reinstall while GitHub's notification inbox continues to receive them, I'd suspect either an issue with the app's push-token registration/delivery or a device-specific Android compatibility issue. It would also be useful to know whether all GitHub push notifications are missing or only specific types such as mentions, issue/PR activity, reviews, etc. That distinction could help determine whether this is a notification-channel configuration issue or a complete push-delivery failure. |

I’ve seen similar notification issues on Android where notifications are generated but don’t reach the device. Since the notifications are visible in the GitHub inbox and email, it seems like the issue may be specifically with push delivery. It would be helpful to check whether battery optimization or background activity restrictions on Android 11 are affecting the GitHub app. Hopefully this can be investigated for affected devices. |

One distinction worth checking before another reinstall: an item appearing in the web/email inbox does not automatically mean that the same event is configured for mobile push. GitHub’s documentation lists mobile push for direct mentions, issue/PR assignments, review requests and deployment approval requests, and also documents an optional Working Hours schedule. On Android, check Profile → Settings → Configure Notifications, then Working Hours. For a controlled test, have another collaborator directly @mention your account in a test issue while direct-mention push is enabled and you are inside the configured hours (or have custom hours disabled). Confirm that exact mention reaches the inbox. Repeat once on Wi-Fi and once on mobile data, since you noted that network comparison is still outstanding. If that eligible event reaches the inbox but never the device on either network, record the UTC test times, exact app version (rather than “latest”), Android version and event URL for a mobile Support report. That avoids repeating the battery/reinstall steps you already ruled out and separates event-selection/schedule issues from push delivery. The GitHub mobile app is not providing push notifications on my Android device. Notifications are enabled in both the GitHub app and Android settings, but I don't receive push notifications for GitHub activity.
I can see the notifications in the GitHub notification inbox/email, so the notifications themselves are being generated, but the mobile push notification is not being delivered.
Device: Narzo 50i (Android 11)
GitHub app: Latest available version
