Hi everyone,

Hi,
I am a verified GitHub Education faculty member, and my faculty benefits are currently active.
I am an owner of the organization ISSS-Team.
Previously, I successfully applied my GitHub Education faculty benefit to this organization, and the organization was using the GitHub Team features through the Education benefit.
At some point, I received a notification asking me to add/register a credit card or payment method. Since the organization was using a free GitHub Education benefit, I did not initially realize that a payment method was required.
After that, it appears that the GitHub Team benefit for the organization stopped working, and the organization is now shown as:
Current plan: GitHub Free
I later added the requested payment information/payment method as instructed, but the GitHub Education Team benefit was not restored.
I then tried to apply the Education benefit again. However, ISSS-Team no longer appears at all in the list of organizations that I can select for the Education upgrade.
Other organizations that I own do appear as selectable options, so this issue seems to be specific to ISSS-Team.
Current situation:

• My GitHub Education Faculty status is active.
• My Education Benefits page shows that my faculty benefit/coupon is applied.
• I am an Owner of ISSS-Team.
• ISSS-Team is currently on GitHub Free.
• Other organizations I own can be selected for an Education upgrade.
• ISSS-Team does not appear in the organization selection list at all.
• The organization previously had the Education benefit applied successfully.
• Adding the requested payment method did not restore the benefit.

Could you please check whether there is an old/stale Education organization upgrade, coupon, or billing association still attached to ISSS-Team that is preventing the organization from appearing as eligible for the Education upgrade?
If so, could the association be reset so that I can reapply my Faculty Education benefit to ISSS-Team?

I found Discussion #53609, which seems similar to my case. However, in my case, the organization previously had the Education benefit applied, and now only this organization no longer appears in the list of eligible organizations.

The important distinction is that your faculty verification is active, while the organization’s Education/billing entitlement is not. Reapplying as a student or repeatedly adding payment methods would not establish why this one organization is missing from the selector. Community members cannot inspect or reset the internal coupon association.

Open a private request at https://support.github.com/contact as the organization owner. Include the organization URL, the benefit page showing the coupon as applied, the organization billing page showing GitHub Free, the date of the payment-method notification, and a screenshot of the selector with ISSS-Team absent. Ask Support to reconcile the existing Education coupon/organization entitlement and confirm the organization’s eligibility before attempting another upgrade. A stale association is a possible explanation, but the symptoms alone do not prove it.

Do not purchase a paid Team subscription assuming the Education discount will automatically apply retroactively, and keep payment details and Education documents out of this public thread.
