Pro removes completion caps: Free stops at 2,000 completions monthly, paid plans never cap them: https://docs.github.com/en/copilot/get-started/plans Chat and agent mode spend AI credits on every plan. Pro includes 1,500 credits monthly, and model choice and conversation length decide how long they last. Credits reset on day 1 of each month: https://docs.github.com/en/copilot/concepts/billing-and-usage/individuals/billing |

If you're using Copilot heavily enough to hit the Free limit every 5 days, I'd say Pro is probably worth it. For normal HTML/CSS/JavaScript development, Pro gives you unlimited inline code completions, while Free has a monthly limit. Pro still has limits on AI/agent requests, so it's not completely unlimited, but typical web development shouldn't burn through them nearly as quickly. I'd suggest trying Pro for one month and checking your usage. For $10/month, it's a pretty reasonable upgrade if Copilot is already part of your daily workflow. |

Afternoon,
I'm building a website in Visual Studio Code and I'm currently using the free version of GitHub Copilot. I tend to burn through 100% of my usage allowance in around 5 days.
Someone suggested today that I should look into GitHub Copilot Pro, and I'm wondering if it's worth the upgrade.
My main use is editing and creating HTML, CSS, and JavaScript pages & rarely PHP files. I don't do anything particularly advanced, just regular web development work.
What I'd like to know is:
What's the actual difference in usage limits between Free and Pro?
Does Pro effectively remove the usage restrictions for normal coding?
If I upgrade, am I likely to run out of usage in days, weeks, or not at all for typical website development?
Has anyone made the switch from Free to Pro and found it worthwhile?
Thanks in advance.
Luke
