Hey! That’s super frustrating. Hardcoded form validations constantly trip up edge cases like this. Since GitHub staff generally don't process manual verifications directly through public community discussions (mostly due to privacy rules and how they handle ID documents), you'll want to tackle this in two ways to get it sorted:

If your last name contains only one character and GitHub Education rejects it due to a validation error, try the following steps:
If the issue is caused by a validation restriction in the application form, GitHub Support can advise you on the appropriate next steps. Don't change your legal name just to bypass the error. Hope this helps! |

Hi everyone,
Hi GitHub Education Team,
I am trying to apply for the GitHub Student Developer Pack, but I am blocked by the application form validation.
My legal last name consists of only a single character. When I enter my name in the application form, it triggers a "last name is too short" error and prevents me from submitting the form.

Could a moderator or team member please help me or guide me on how to proceed with manual verification?
Thank you!
