Copilot still appears in repository sidebar contributors, but is absent from contributor APIs and published history.

Hello,

I’m seeing an inconsistency in the Contributors section displayed in the sidebar of two repositories I own. Both repositories still show @Copilot as a contributor, but the contributor APIs do not list Copilot.

1. ferdcard-ux/Project894

The repository sidebar displays @Copilot alongside @ferdcard-ux. I amended the affected published commits to remove the Co-authored-by: Copilot trailer and updated the branch and v2.0.12 tag. The current contributors API lists only ferdcard-ux, but the sidebar still shows Copilot.

The repository sidebar displays five contributors, including @Copilot. However, the contributor APIs list four other contributors and do not include Copilot. I also checked the published commit history and could not find a Copilot author or co-author attribution. This issue has persisted for more than 24 hours.

GitHub Support directed me to GitHub Community Discussions. Could someone explain what data the repository sidebar uses in this situation, and whether there is a way to refresh or correct it? I’d like the displayed contributor list to match the published history and contributor APIs, without removing the other legitimate contributors.

I’ve attached screenshots of the contributor sections for both repositories. Thank you.
