GitHub profile shows 8 followers, but the followers list and API show only 5

Hi everyone!

I've noticed a strange issue with my GitHub profile. My profile page shows that I have 8 followers, but when I click on the followers list, only 5 accounts appear. I also checked the GitHub REST API, and it returns only 5 followers.

I've checked my profile on different devices and browsers, and the profile page still shows 8 followers, while the list and API show only 5.

I have never used bots or any services to artificially increase my followers. I only used the API to check my followers list.

I'm wondering if this could be a caching issue, a synchronization problem, or something else.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Is this a known GitHub issue?

I'm not accusing GitHub of anything; I'd just like to understand why these numbers don't match.
