Paid $61 to upgrade GitHub Copilot Pro+ to Max, but my account shows Copilot Free #210526

This is an entitlement sync issue that frequently happens when an upgrade involves split transactions (your prorated $61 upgrade followed by the $62.45 adjustment). GitHub’s provisioning worker often defaults the UI to "Copilot Free" until every related line item moves from processing to fully settled under Settings → Billing and plans → Payment history. You can check the Subscriptions tab to verify if the Max plan itself is active, and try checking the page via an incognito window or signing out and back into Copilot in your IDE to clear stale session cache. Crucially, do not click "Upgrade" or "Cancel" on the licensing page, as re-initiating the flow can lock up your prorated credit or trigger duplicate charges. Instead, reply directly to the confirmation email of your existing support ticket with the transaction/invoice IDs for both charges and a screenshot showing "Copilot Free". GitHub billing agents see this seat-binding glitch often and can trigger a manual entitlement re-sync to push your Max access through immediately. |

Hello,
I upgraded my GitHub Copilot Pro+ plan to Max on October 15, 2026. The $61 charge completed successfully ($100 for Max minus a $39 credit for the remaining Pro+ time). On October 16, I was also charged $62.45 for prior usage and adjustments.
However, the Copilot Licensing page for my GitHub account, Ticosoft, currently shows Copilot Free. I have already opened GitHub Support ticket .
Has anyone else experienced this after upgrading? Were there steps that helped the Max license appear correctly? I would appreciate suggestions for what to check while Support investigates, especially anything that would not require making another payment.
Thanks.
