This is a very practical feature request, especially for sharing technical specs or documentation from private repositories with external stakeholders or non-technical teammates who don't have GitHub organization seats. While a native one-click "Export as PDF" option would be a great addition to GitHub Mobile, here is the fastest zero-tool workaround you can use right now on Android to export perfectly formatted GitHub Markdown to PDF, plus an automated repository-level solution: Method 1: The Native Android Print Spooler (Zero Apps Required)Because GitHub Mobile renders markdown within an Android webview container, you can leverage Android's native PDF printer in 3 taps:
Method 2: Automated Repository Workflow (For Repositories You Maintain)If your repository produces documentation that you frequently need in PDF format:
Feedback for the Mobile TeamHaving a native "Share as PDF" action in the Android share sheet would eliminate the need to bounce through the mobile browser. If this Android Print workaround helps you save and share readable PDFs on the go, please mark this as the accepted answer! |

Feature Request: Export Markdown Files as PDF in GitHub Mobile
When viewing a
README.mdor other Markdown file on Android, it would be useful to have an “Export as PDF” option.Currently, sharing a file shares its GitHub link. For private repositories, recipients without access cannot view the document. Exporting it as a PDF would let users save and share a readable, properly formatted copy directly from their phone.
This small addition would make GitHub Mobile more useful for developers who need to share documentation while on the go, without granting repository access or relying on third-party converters.
