Ask support to clear the flag and reset the address fields, then delete the org once the banner is gone. |

Hello GitHub Community Team and @mlinksva,
I am reaching out because my personal account (
@zain5m) is currently stuck on a legacy U.S. Trade Controls restriction flag, even though GitHub officially lifted country-wide restrictions for developers in Syria on September 4, 2025 (following U.S. Executive Order 14312 and OFAC/BIS policy updates). What happened:
syria, fler 01100, Lebanon). Because this triggered the legacy trade controls filter, the "Edit" button has completely disappeared from my Billing Information tab, leaving me unable to clear or update the address myself.zain-mhesnand I want to delete it completely. However, whenever I try to delete it, I receive the legacy banner: "It appears your account may be based in a U.S.-sanctioned region..." and the system blocks me from deleting or leaving the organization.Request for assistance:
I have already submitted a support ticket to GitHub Support, and I kindly ask if a community moderator or staff member could escalate this internally to:
@zain5mand reset my Billing Information fields.zain-mhesntied to my account.I have attached a screenshot showing the locked Billing Information page without the Edit button[cite: 1].
Thank you very much for your time and support!
