Is anyone having trouble with degoog image search?

I am getting totally unrelated images and often inappropriate stuff. I’m running this as a container in Dockhand on a Synology NAS.

What version of degoog, what engines are you trying and would you be willing to try develop and tell me if the issue is there as well or it feels better?

I’m running version 0.14.0. I run degoog on my LAN and use a Cloudflare tunnel for external access. If I ran up a separate ‘develop” container, would this conflict with my release version and would it be secure in an insecure internal LAN?

Your version has known issues with the image engines, these issues have already been fixed and deployed.. any latest non develop version will behave better (we are at 0.17.0 currently)

Develop is fairly stable and probably more secure than latest at this point, check the open pull request with everything that's coming with it.

Let me know if you have any issues as you are gonna be jumping by quite a few versions and some things may misbehave

Thanks, I am now on version 0.170, although puzzled why dockhand did not auto update to the latest version. Image searches work now with Bing searches but not Google searches. Still weird images (e.g. Velcro tape). The message header from Google was “ Google Images (NEEDS FPLAY TRANSPORT) · 0 retry”.

Yes, Google images are broken, the only way to make them work currently is by using an extension called 4play which you'll find in the store..

There's docs on how to use it when you install it within the configuration modal

It's all good, there are a few steps involved but it's a simple process, you just need to install a browser extension and have it working on tandem with degoog .

If you wait for the next release (the one currently in develop) you'll be able to skip the docker compose changes too, but on the version you are on they will be required, sorry!
