I had hoped that my fosstodon post was enough of a PSA, but confused emails, DMs, and Discord pings about misinformation on
doomemacs.comhave begun rolling in, so I thought I'd make this a proper announcement:doomemacs.comis not associated with me or this projectI was recently made aware of

Otherwise, besides causing confusion, the site seems harmless (no ads, no phishing, no malicious content), but I don't know what the motivation behind it was, so that could change in the future.
doomemacs.org is the one and only official domain for this project.
What can be done?
Besides compete with it with an official site of our own (which is still some months away), we can only spread awareness or report the site on Google/DuckDuckGo/other search engines for misinformation so they don't score as high on results:

Footnotes
I feel slimy reading "4.8/5 Community Rating", "Built for Serious Hackers", and "3x Faster Than Vanilla". ↩
E.g. That v3 is already out, that Doom is "3x faster than vanilla" (how do you even measure that?), advertising modules that have already been renamed/removed, many nuances lost to LLM paraphrasing, over-representation of LLM and Evil integration, etc. ↩
