allow soft hypens in editor

Describe the Problem

Soft hyphes (­) are removed in the visual editor even if added in the code editor.

Propose a Solution

Add soft hyphens to the tool bar and don't strip them

Additional Context

In other language, certainly in German, long words cause havoc, browser hypenation is horrible and a designer should have more influence on text rendering

But you did check the frontend, right? Because it will replace the &shy with a invisible character and it still works. Add a shy tag, save it and just look at the frontend or inspect the editor in the backend and you'll see it working and the character it adds:

An invisible charactor in a text editor (both visual and code) is imho a bug and means it is not formally supported. Also inserting a soft-hypen is not available as command button.

Maybe I should change the request for visible soft hypens. :-)

but that just breaks the word and doesn't add the hyphen. OP wants hyphens but not CSS hypens:auto because of the control. It works in Elementor it will just be invisible in the editor once you save it (still works though)

Also typing a unicode U+00AD is inserted, visible in on the webpage but not in the editor.
