Atomic Editor is a disaster

Description

I had a developer build my website. He used Elementor. Now with your updates the website can't be changed. Plugin can't access the editor. Always crashes and reverts to the HTML pane. Multiple errors in the log files. And you can't go back to an earlier version because once Atomic gets its hands on the content it changes everything.

You don't need to enable the atomic editor. Then everything stays the same as before.

Why isn't your developer helping you solve these issues?

it's only enabled for new installations, not existing once unless you enable it. So in this case (the page was developed before) the client enabled v4 or the dev did. Then you should either disabled it yourself or ask the dev to do it for you if you don't have the knowledge to do it. So it's a valid question to ask why the dev is not disabling because it sounds like the client doesn't know where to find it.

As regards not understanding the software, etc. that is possible but not the only answer sadly. I have disabled it after having enabled it to see the dramatic improvements. It did not disable cleanly, parts of it clung and didn't disable at all. There are bugs as they said and they don't make it markedly easy to remove the Atomic mess. These are things for which we are paying a good price.. to add something that is not workable, has this many issues, doesn't disable cleanly, or is buggy to the nth degree is not the way this should be done. At the very least label is as " may be problematic" so that developers know what to expect. I personally find it annoying and onerous.

I wasn't able to edit the defult kit until I turn it off. I want to change colors and the "save" button didn't click. Right after I disable it, the button start to work.

You should go to /wp-admin/admin.php?page=elementor-settings#tab-editor-v4-opt-in and disable it manually.
Better not trying to experiment on live sites before doing proper testing. It's especially sad that this applies to the PRO version (race).

I use 100% V4 elements on my website (100+ pages, 60+ variables, 80+ classes an 10+ components) and nothing is broken.

I never had problems. It’s actually more stable than v3. Maybe your developer is doing something wrong?

I 100% agree with this and it's not because of functionality / errors but because the UX is so much of a step backwards, I can't see myself ever using this - and if it becomes the default in Elementor then I'll be migrating the many sites that I use it on away to something else. I was shocked how difficult doing something like resizing a button is with this new system.

And when I disabled it it nuked every page that I had created with it even though I was just using default elementor basic elements like a heading or gallery.

Just a disaster indeed

I absolutely concur. I have bought a thousand installations of Elementor the past 4 years. I AM not remotely impressed with what i'm seeing and my only suggestion would be to leave the layout and user experience the same as it is allow people to switch it back and forth. I too can see myself migrating sites away from it. I don't mind learning new things, approaching from a different angle but I don't see any real forward momentum here.. It isn't moving forward if the only place it takes you is off a cliff. It did very little but frustrate me and slow my work.

Atomic Editor's features are incredibly disappointing and frustrating. The experience has been very poor, and I'm growing increasingly frustrated with Elementor day by day
