Which discussion platform should be used?

Hey friends, I'm Vlad from the Open Source Pledge. It was amazing to meet everyone at AltCtrlOrg.

There is currently a lot of discussion going on about sustainability in the WordPress community. A lot of people are coordinating in #five-for-the-future in the Making WordPress Slack. The WP Community Collective also has a Slack. And presumably FAIR also has some discussion channels, such as this one.

Should we create a space to consolidate this entire community in one place, so that we can make it maximally easy to share ideas and work together, instead of having a fragmented community? Ideally, a space that is not under WordPress.org?

What would you think about a Slack workspace for FAIR, where these discussions could be consolidated?

Great question, and idea of bringing all of the discussions together.

For the time being, FAIR related discussions are to take place here (Github discussions), but we are looking into opening other community spaces to host discussions in near future. Once that is done, I don't see any reasons why we couldn't have space(s) to not only discuss FAIR project itself but consolidate some other discussions.

Since we're part of LF, whatever place we make (Slack, Discord, something else...) will be done via that process, so don't feel like you need to run off and try to make one yourself! I promise we've got it covered.
