Hello Firefly III community,

A huge thank you to the Firefly III team for creating such a beautifully designed and powerful personal finance system!

I'm excited to share a new project I've been working on in these few days: the Firefly III MCP Server (Github Repo). This Model Context Protocol (MCP) server is designed to integrate AI tools with Firefly III, letting you use AI to interact with your Firefly III account, making it easier to manage your finances, track transactions, and stay on top of your budget.

What It Does

• AI-Powered Finance: Use AI to manage your Firefly III accounts and transactions effortlessly.
• Easy to Set Up: Run it locally or deploy it to the cloud with minimal effort.
• Works with Popular AI Models: I’ve been using it daily for my own budgeting and have tested it successfully with Google Gemini 2.5 Flash and OpenAI GPT 4.1 Nano.

The project is open-source (MIT license). I’ve found it incredibly helpful for streamlining my finance tasks, and I hope it can benefit others in the community too! It’s been a joy to build on top of your work. If the maintainers think it’s a good fit, I’d be honoured if you’d consider adding the Firefly III MCP Server to the Third Party Apps list in the Firefly III wiki.
