I think the warning a la Bluesky is a good idea, though I will note that Fluxer does allow you to edit the alt text for an image after you've sent it. So no need for reuploading or writing it as a message. |

Problem
👋🏻 As a heavily visually impaired user interacting with friends, I need alt-text on images to be able to understand and interact with the conversation. However, sometimes my friends forget to upload alt text on their image. This leads to either an awkward dance of writing it later in a message detached from the image, or deleting it (and losing it's reactions/etc.) and reuploading it.
Proposed solution
It's common for many platforms these days to add in an option to allow users to be reminded when they're about to upload an image without alt text (e.g. BlueSky has it in settings > accessibility "require alt-text before posting"). It'd be nice to have a similar option.
Not to mention for those who may not want a modal (or forced option), if they could add (or fix typo's they may have made!) in alt text after upload.
Notes (optional)
Looks like looking at the rough code, I think the implementation (at least for the warning) would roughly be:
