Some servers are not meant to be hangouts and are simple little information places. This means that the member list isn't really needed and can be more of a burden to the server owners as bad actors can come and use the member list of your server to wreak havoc.
Proposed solution
An option to make the member list private, similar to how Fluxer HQ handles, would be a good way to solve this supposed problem, depending on whether people have actually wanted it.
Notes (optional)
There are flaws to this. Making the member list private can actually be beneficial to bad actors by hiding what they are doing on the server. They can break rules, message randoms, or worse, and disappear without a trace (unless you have a logging bot) if they destroy the evidence.
It would take a lot of thinking on who is allowed and when it is allowed to private a server's member list.
