In Addition to Areas, I'd like Home Assistant to include Sub-areas.

Why the uncertainty?

I was uncertain as to which discussion category this belonged.

Use cases

If Areas represent rooms, then Sub-areas could be used to organize smaller, logical groupings of devices or entities within an Area. For example, a closet exists inside a bedroom and may contain devices you want to control independently, while still being included when you control the entire room. In this model, a closet functions as a sub-room within a primary room. Home Assistant could reflect this natural hierarchy, allowing both granular control of Sub-areas and unified control at the parent Area level.

This would also be tremendously useful for open floorplans- it would be easier to target actions to the larger area (turn off all lights in the area for a 'movie mode') or just part of it "turn off the lights in the half that is unoccupied"
