LG WebOS 25 no Dolby Vision playback, guidance needed

Dolby Vision is not working for me on LG's WebOS for some time now (LG G5). I had hopes that Jellyfin 12 would fix this but sadly this is not the case.

Do I have to use a specific configuration? I have tried some things but it is not working.

hey, this is almost certainly a dolby vision profile issue, not a jellyfin 12 thing. the webos client can only direct play certain dv profiles — profile 5 and 8.1 are fine, profile 7 (the one on bluray rips with FEL) just doesnt work on webos.

check your files with mediainfo and look at the dv profile. if its profile 7 youve got two options: remux to profile 8.1 with dovi_tool (no re-encode needed) or let the server tone-map down to hdr10.

also check the webos app settings — direct play on, quality set to original/auto. if its transcoding for some other reason youll lose dv regardless of profile.
