Like mentioned in the docs, I store my movies into individual folders like this:
Movies └── Best_Movie_Ever (2019) ├── Best_Movie_Ever (2019).mp4 ├── Best_Movie_Ever (2019).nfo ├── Best_Movie_Ever (2019).en_us.srt ├── cover.png └── theme.mp3While my
.mkvmovies usually come with included subtitles, all my.mp4movies have external subtitles. I also store the metadata as files in the same folder. Here's the issue: Some of my users are only allowed to download items from my library, as I want to limit my resources regarding streaming. So when one of these users currently (Jellyfin version
12.2) wants to download a movie, they'll only get to download the file of the movie, and any external subtitles or other metadata are excluded from such a download. I'd prefer if they'll get to download the whole folder with all external subtitles, metadata and images as a single archive. My current workaround is to create Matroska containers for all
.mp4movies, which gets a bit tedious after a while.I'd like to propose that the download functionality includes any additional files within a movie folder and downloads these files as an archive (ZIP).
