Can I assign users at trace level in human annotation queue to allow seamless delegation within a annotation queue.

I see Completed by Column inside annotation queue. We would like to have Assigned To Column which users can assign themselves if they want to or leave it empty. This is helpful when multiple users annotate within same queue

Based on the available documentation, Langfuse supports user assignment at the annotation queue level, not at the individual trace level within a queue(1)(2).

When you create or manage an annotation queue, you can assign multiple team members to that specific queue(2). Assigned queues appear highlighted at the top of the annotation queue table for those users(2). However, there is no documented functionality for assigning individual traces within a queue to specific users or allowing users to self-assign specific annotation tasks(1)(2).

The current workflow is:

1. Assign users to the entire annotation queue (queue-level assignment)(1)(2)
2. Users process annotation tasks sequentially by clicking "Complete + next" to move through items in the queue(1)
3. The "Completed by" column shows who completed each annotation task(1)

The feature you're describing—an "Assigned To" column where users can assign themselves to individual traces within a queue—is not currently available in the documented functionality(1)(2).

For self-hosted deployments, note that annotation queue assignment functionality is available in Langfuse (as of version 3.65.3 and later)(3), and you can manage assignments through both the UI and API(2).
