DataSet Items api doesn't work

I installed the langfuse in local docker.
I use the dataset items list api. But it doesn't work for me. (Return empty result)

And when I use the debug the rest api in chrome. It looks like it doesn't use this public api.

The GET endpoint for dataset items accepts these query parameters:(1)

• datasetName (string, optional)
• sourceTraceId (string, optional)
• sourceObservationId (string, optional)
• page (integer, optional, starts at 1)
• limit (integer, optional)

The endpoint returns dataset items that match all the provided filters.(2) If you're filtering by datasetName, sourceTraceId, and sourceObservationId simultaneously, the API will only return items that match all three conditions.(2)

Possible reasons for empty results:

1. No items match all filters – If you're providing sourceTraceId and sourceObservationId along with datasetName, there may be no items that satisfy all three conditions simultaneously.(2)

2. Items have ARCHIVED status – The API only returns items with status: "ACTIVE".(2)(3) If your dataset items were archived, they won't appear in the results.

3. Data not yet visible – If you just created items via the UI or SDK, there may be a brief delay before they're queryable, especially in self-hosted setups.(4)(5)

To troubleshoot:

• Try calling the endpoint with only datasetName=test (remove sourceTraceId and sourceObservationId).(1)
• Verify items exist in the UI at the dataset detail page.
• Check that items have status: "ACTIVE" and not ARCHIVED.(2)(3)

Regarding the UI using a different internal endpoint: The Langfuse UI may use internal APIs for rendering, which is separate from the public API you're calling.(2)(3) The public API at /api/public/dataset-items is the correct endpoint for programmatic access.(1)
