QR Code Scanner // Browser Connection

Probably going to be putting a lot of stuff on the Tools discussion to make sure we, as a community, don't duplicate efforts.

Also working on a QR Scanner. Won't be able to verify its functionality until we get the Dash side loading option and I can try it on my hardware. I prefer to stay in the official methods, so I won't try to backdoor it. If anyone has already developed this please let me know!

The idea is that it would open the QR code site in a browser but will not allow the user to access the search bar/directory. This will NOT be a backdoor into a browser. I want the Ethos to be upheld.

Why a QR code scanner? I have already been in plenty of situations that require I bring a separate device for scanning a code and filling a form.

Why am I on the fence? I have always resolved it by talking to a human and getting manually added or bringing my iPad and doing it via Hotspot. I would like to think I will always be able to resolve it by talking to someone, but I can easily imagine that not being the case in the near future sadly. For now, I am looking at restaurant menu's on my friend's phones...lol.

You may not be surprised with my answer here based on what I have said in the previous discussions. For me I get a kick out of doing things without a QR scanner. I just politely say I have a dumb phone and I dont have the ability to scan that. But I also live in a area where it is not a requirement. I really dont see restaurants that have QR codes for menus anymore. I also think if the Light phone is going to be able to be used for the long run and other dumb phones, we need to push back on the requirement of smart phones. I feel the same way about cash. we need to use it or we will loose it.

On the flip side I know lots of people have asked for a QR code.

I think its a good Idea to post what you have been working on so people arent double working. I will try to post my projects.
