Tool idea - Jellyfin client

I plan on working on a Jellyfin client. If anybody has a similar interest I would love to collaborate. My thought is to keep it limited to audio, since video feels antithetical to the "light" philosophy.

I'm also interested in a light version of plexamp. I use plexamp a ton so this is very very high on my todo list.

Does the Jellyfin app also require 3rd party auth? If so, how are you handling it?

My understanding is that Jellyfin authenticates through simple username & password pointed at the servers host.

Jellyfin is probably the easier solution b/c of the self-hosted auth' and that it's open source.

Either way, at the Light OS layer there are some common components in both:

Have you gotten background playback working on LightOS yet?
Do media controls appear on the lock screen?
Are you using Media3/ExoPlayer, LightOS media APIs, or something SDK-specific?
Have you tested Bluetooth/headphone controls?
How are you storing server config/tokens (if applicable)?
Have you figured out downloads/offline storage?
Are you syncing playback progress back to Jellyfin?
