Tool Request - Meditation

Hi all,

I’m very excited about the tools being created. It’s a really cool time to be a part of the Light community. I was hoping that somebody might try to build an app for meditation similar to Insight Timer (its most basic features are a timer with ambient drones). Insight also has guided meditations. I’m not sure how feasible that would be, but would be a cool addition too.

Sounds interesting! Might give that a go in the future. What do you like most about Insight Timer? What helps you during a meditation session?

That would be so cool! Personally, I enjoy the meditations sounds and find them really good for relaxation. I’m not sure if the sounds are open source, so they could prove too difficult to include.

I think the main purpose of a tool like this is having a timer that you don’t constantly need to check, as that pulls you out of the meditation. Having bell/gong sounds at the beginning and end of an allotted time would be essential.

As a bonus, Insight also has the option to track consecutive meditations, letting you know how many days you have been consistently showing up for, etc. While this is cool, I’m not sure how easy it would be to implement.

Made a start on it. Still lots to do like vibrations and sounds, but is this a bit in line with what you'd be looking for?

Ambiant/meditation sounds are a bit harder to add since they're often not open source, but perhaps I can find some. I think tracking the amount of sessions would be cool, but maybe also not really part of the ethos of Light. A really simple tool would perhaps be best.

Ah man, that is really cool! I figured the sounds might be trickier for that very reason, but it looks as though you have nailed the other rest. Also, the design is excellent!

(and, I’d be more than happy to beta test it for you when you’re ready to share)
