In addition as a new service, or part of this, somewhat I experienced over time that for some companies it hard for various reasons to fund, sponsor or pay developers on open source project they use.
One company I know of solved it by every employee had a company card, and a spending limit where some were allowed to donate to projects they use and rely on through Github Patreon.

However many are willing to pay something.

So maybe if there is not a need to develop and maintain a FOSS project for a company, because the project itself do it well, maybe we could somehow make it easier to pay such project.

I don't know, possibly funnel a larger amount from a company (one payment, one invoice etc) that we could redistribute according to a key. Obviously they would need some kind of proof.
