OK so I understand you are just talking about an issue with a laptop and you are trying to play to the player titled WEB ( ON ) If so and MA streams to everywhere else then look at any firewalls on the laptop |

That is a fair question. I have run MA from my phone using the HA mobile
app. And it plays over the local speakers on the phone. So, I turned off
the firewall on my laptop. And I still have the problem. For what it's
worth, I am using Librewolf as my player (on the desktop). So, I figured
I'd try another browser. Using ungoogled-chromium, I can play to my
local laptop and any of its connected speakers.
Obviously, the problem lies with the browser. But this used to work
(last week and months before that) on my default browser. But I am on a
rolling release. So, I wonder if the issue is with a recent update to
Librewolf.
Thanks to one and to all. I appreciate the different set of eyes. They
led me to a workaround while I still look for the root cause and the
irreversible corrective action.

I agree. This is NOT an MA issue. And I am pretty paranoid about
security. So, I'm, almost sure that this may have something to do with
additional hardening of my primary browser. But at the moment, this will
have to take a back seat to other issues that don't have a bypass in
place. Thanks for the willing ear - and for a hint that got me searching
down the right path. - Together Everyone Achieves More!

If you could roll back the browser to an earlier version that would be
helpful to troubleshoot. Beyond that I am not sure we can do much more

I've used MA for quite a while. And it is fabulous. Thanks for this fantastic tool. My life priority list is as follows: Yeshua Hamashiach, wife, family, community, computers, information security, and music. MA is the tool I use to bring the music to all of the other areas of my life. Last week, things went boom on my HA instance. And my Nabu Casa recovery did not work. So, I had to rebuild from scratch. I don't mind this all that much. But when this happens, at least one bad thing happens. And in this case, Music Assistant didn't work the way that it did before - or the way that I expected.
I have tried by the GA and the beta versions of Music Assistant. And it installed without problems. I can stream to my television. And I can stream to my thermostat (of all things). I can even stream from my Android phone. But my main system (a Dell Inspiron laptop running CachyOS) is having trouble. I can us MA to send to everything - except locally (or Bluetooth) attached speakers. Both my internal speakers and my UE Boom 4 work for everything - except MA. When I try to play from MA running on either the Librewolf browser or the ungoogled Chromium browser, I do see the sound levels displaying in the bottom bar. But no sound is heard on the speakers (whether builtin or Bluetooth).
For what it's worth, I have tried the Browser Mod addon (from HACS). But that changed nothing. Therefore, I'm coming here with a plaintive request for help. Has anyone seen (and not heard) this problem before???
Note: I probably should document my version info. Home Assistant (2026.4.2). My Dell Laptop is running CachyOS (current as of this morning). I am currently running beta Music Assistant (2.9.0b6) but I've used GA as well.
