player_type.display - how to bind to player? #5473

I have an ESP32 panel configured as a Sendspin display player (player_type.display) with supported_roles: ['controller@v1', 'metadata@v1', 'artwork@v1']. MA connects successfully and sends stream/start, but with player=None. The panel therefore never receives metadata or cover art, even when another player is actively playing. How can I assign this display player to follow a specific playing player (e.g. the current master player), so it receives metadata and artwork? |

If you are using the stable version of Music Assistant, there are still some bugs with artwork-only clients in 2.8, so you might need to try the beta or wait for the stable 2.9 release. After you first start playing on another Sendspin player in Music Assistant, you can group your display client with your speaker. |
