Changing default quality profile for youtube music

I always see 44.1 KHz audio being played via Youtube. Is there a way to change the default stream to the highest bandwidth possible? Most files have 48 KHz option.

I dont believe so. Per the docs the maximum quaity is Lossy, AAC (256kbps)

Do you know if this is limitation of the API or just unimplemented? If its feasible, I'd like to give it a try. I'd appreciate any pointers to code/documentation regarding this.
