Supabase website data fetching issue for the last 3 hours

Hi everyone,

I am facing an issue with Supabase. For the last 3 hours, my website has been unable to properly load and fetch data from Supabase.

The application was working normally before, but now requests are failing and the website is unable to retrieve data from the database. I am not sure whether this is related to a Supabase outage or a project-specific issue.

Error:
[sbFetch Error] URL: Error: Unexpected token 'u', "upstream r"... is not valid JSON

Additional details:

Issue started approximately 3 hours ago
Website is unable to load data from Supabase
Restarting the project did not resolve the issue
Project region: India
Plan: Pro

Has anyone else experienced the same issue recently? Any help would be appreciated.

No outages on status page and no other reports here or Discord.

What is status of project on home page of dashboard?
Try a VPN.
Check the API Gateway logs.
Any change in your code?

Yes VPN test was to rule out an ISP or DNS blocking issue not a solution.
You had said restart did not work, but restart (usually after checking usage/database reports) would be the first thing I suggest.
So I would still look into those because you also did a CPU upgrade so could have been overloaded.

One thing I've seen a bit is when an error first occurs some apps do retries on errors without a backoff. This quickly cascades to all clients going into loops and hitting the server constantly which then impacts restart doing any good.

Would it be possible to do a 1:1 discussion on Discord? If you're comfortable with that, we can also use Google Meet or Zoom. I'd appreciate your help in troubleshooting and fixing this issue.

I think it's not needed right now because the issue seems to be resolved. However, we don't know what might happen tomorrow. If the issue occurs again, would it be possible to do a quick call on Discord, Google Meet, or Zoom to help troubleshoot it?
