Hello everyone,
Two pre-releases of the
win32servicePHP extension are available for testing:What's new in 1.1.1beta21
win32_create_service()now throws aValueErrorinstead of emitting a warning when a value contains a null byte.win32_read_right_access_service()andwin32_read_all_rights_access_service()throw aValueErroron an empty service name or username.ValueErrormessages now report the correct argument position.WIN32_GENERIC_ALLconstant,win32_add_right_access_service()accepts generic rights andWIN32_ACCESS_SYSTEM_SECURITY, andRightInfo::getRights()no longer reports bogus generic rights.win32_set_service_exit_code()now returns the previous exit code, and calling it without an argument no longer overwrites the configured one. What's new in 1.2.0alpha1
win32_query_service_config()andwin32_update_service_config()let you inspect and change a service configuration without deleting and recreating it.win32_get_service_priority()andwin32_set_service_priority().W) Windows API instead of the ANSI (A) one. Only pass UTF-8 strings to Win32Service functions. This is a good moment to check services with non-ASCII names, paths or descriptions.Install with PIE
If PIE refuses a pre-release, allow it with
--minimum-stability, or set"minimum-stability": "alpha"(orbeta) in your PIE configuration.Help us: test and report back
These versions are meant to be tried on real setups before the final releases. If you use Win32Service, please:
win32_query_service_config(),win32_update_service_config()and the priority functions, and tell us if anything feels awkward.Even a simple "works fine on PHP 8.x / Windows Server 20xx" is very useful.
Thank you for your help, and happy testing!
