I have been interested in alternative languages to c and cpp for embedded development for a long time, ZenC and C3 are approaches that very cleanly fit the bill for simple abstractions that improve the quality of life in embedded software development imo. Regarding actually developing a larger system with ZenC, can anyone point me in the right direction for things like mapping threading support to a non-posix rtos, cleanly adapting stdio and stderr to systems without an OS, and similar concerns? Getting these things in the documentation would really help adapting the language to bare metal targets.
as an aside, ZenC is likely the closest thing out there to what I would call a natural middle ground between the c we know and love and "modern" languages.
Cheers! 🍻
