Follow track but no re-routing

Hello:

• I used GPSVisualiser to generate a track from a google maps link https://maps.app.goo.gl/M5BVpN3vwdDwHegQ8. I hope that's not a faux pas in the assembled crowd. (I use Google Maps for designing routes because it has the best search for POIs and it supports both "stops" - what I enter in the list of stops, left-hand-side - as well as "vias" by "draging" the route to where I want it to go. (I realise that the Osmand won't be a 100% match to the google route because of the different underlying maps, but it's a pretty good approximation.). I would like to share here the .gpx file that GPSVisualiser produces, but this editor doesn't allow me to attach a gpx file However, I include a screen print of the header and the first few trksegs.

• In the Osmand app, I import the this .gpx file. No problem. Osmand recognises it and places the track on the map.
• I begin navigating along the track in my car. All good.
• However, when I deviate from the track - in this case intentionally to understand Osmand's behaviour, but this could, of course, happen as a result of missing a turn - Osmand does NOT recalculate the route. See the iPhone Osmand CarPLay screenprint here:
  
• It does say "recalculating: x%", but no matter how far I drove away from the track, it never finishes doing the recalculation.
• One addigtional thought: unless one is going off-road (hiking or biking or whatever), for Driving routing, it would make more sense to generate and import at </rte] with rtepts instead of a track But then Navigate doesn't seem work.

What's wrong? What am I doing wrong?

This will not answer your question but....

this editor doesn't allow me to attach a gpx file.

Enter your gpx file as xxxxxxx.gpx.txt or compress the gpx file into zip and attach.

@peteraschindler please try the Attach to the roads option (for more information see https://test.osmand.net/docs/user/navigation/setup/gpx-navigation#attach-to-roads). In the Follow track menu (navigation > settings>) you can also enable 'Navigate to > nearest point' option, this may help for recalculation

Thank you for the suggestion.
This is helpful. Osmand now recalculates, but on occasion with some odd behaviour which I will document another time.
In the meantime, thanks again!
