In case it helps, here is the error I saw: TypeError: Right hand side of instanceof is not an object.

Thanks for reporting.

@types/bun was incorrect for a while about ShellError being exported. This was fixed in 1.2.5 and was moved to the $ namespace. Make sure you have @types/bun version 1.2.5 installed

You can access ShellError like this

import {$} from 'bun';

try {
  await $`mycommand`
} catch (e) {
  e instanceof $.ShellError // => true
}
