Add ldap authorization

It will be very usefull feature for private installation in organisation that already has ldap user base. There is node-ldapauth project on github that can be used to implement it.

This would be great. I would also like to see Central Authentication Service support at some point (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_Authentication_Service), again for integration with organisations.

Before this can happen, I think a refactor of the user authentication system is needed, since it's some of the oldest code we have. If anyone is up for this, let me know and we can go over it :).

I am interested. I'm on a two week holiday now, so if you could offer some pointers, I'll familiarise myself with the codebase, and start work once I return.

I have plans on moving some of our code to use passportjs which will mean dropping in things like ldap much simpler. If you want to help with that then I would be very happy.

Sure. What can I do? I haven't done any programming using Nodejs, so I would need a bit of time to learn Node.

This hasn't been merged into ShareLaTeX, but @heukirne's branch is available at https://github.com/heukirne/web-sharelatex/tree/ldap-auth if people want to try using it to set up LDAP authentication.
