Flask performance issue

I know benchmark is a lie, still, can we do any improvement? I love Flask and really feel bad when flask loses always in these benchmarks.

So what do you guys think about this issue? Is it really a issue or what? Is any improvement necessary? If no, why?

I can't say for sure, but I have a feeling these aren't very indicative of normal use. Flask is a micro framework, but does provide conveniences out of the box which slow it down. For example, it is consistently slower than the Werkzeug library on which it is built. Without knowing the other frameworks, I would guess they provide even less out of the box, but once you start implementing routing, templating, etc. everything would even out.

However, I think the most common solution is to throw more hardware at it. Depending on how dynamic your page is an external cache will be much faster than any kind of optimization.

There is a web page which presents detailed benchmarks for web frameworks(not just python).

In some cases, Flask has relatively high performance compared to other frameworks. I guess use cases matter when it comes to performance issues.

You can deploy flask with pypy. It seems to improve performance of Flask in general based on these results.
