I have been having to modify my paperclip setup in order to get it to not run parallel agents, but it keeps running into problems as custom mods often do. This is necessary because when my agents go to their local model fallbacks, because I am using the largest local model that can run comfortably on my machine, which I imagine many other local users do as well, I need it to be able to only run one agent at a time, strictly. I am able to configure my Ollama to only allow one model at a time and I have done so, but it just queues the runtimes that are trying to ping it and this causes agents and paper clip to time out while they are waiting and just creates various glitches and problems that are completely unnecessary, if it simply had a one-at-a-time setting that made it mechanically impossible to have multiple run times going simultaneously.
Incidentally this would also have the added benefit even when not using local models of preventing agents from working on things that contradict what other agents might currently be doing, in exchange for a speed cost which may be warranted in some circumstances.
